The “Other World” At Seneca Garage in Ithaca, New York
Painted in Conjunction with the Ithaca Murals “Justice Walls” Grant.
"The Other World" is a mural depicting life underwater. Often throughout history civilizations have 'fetishized' and objectified other cultures in order to benefit from them without giving back to support the culture- I feel we are now doing the same to ocean life. It is easy to destroy something when it is out of site. I hope this mural will make viewers feel that they are physically in the ocean which will keep it in their frame of mind.
